  1. Brooklyn Bridge one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Its length is 1,825 meters. It crosses the East River and connects Brooklyn and Manhattan in New York City.

  2. It was built from 1869 until 1883. The bridge was designed by John Roebling, and the construction was directed by his son Washington Roebling and Washington's wife, Emily. When it was finished, it was the tallest structure in North America.

  3. Firstly, this bridge was called as New York and Brooklyn Bridge. The current name was given in 1915.

    In 1964 this bridge was listed as a National Historic Landmark.

    More than 120,000 vehicles, 4,000 pedestrians and 3,100 bicyclists cross the Brooklyn Bridge every day.
